Gilles Quicken India's Recovery with Fifty+

Shubman Gill (70*) and Rishabh Pant worked together to increase India's momentum early on day two of the final Test against New Zealand in Mumbai. During their joint 96-run play, Shubman Gill achieved a half-century and eventually achieved a personalized high of 70. Rishabh Pant also reached his half-century but the second half of his innings didn't go so well for him. Despite the sudden loss of Pant with about 25 minutes remaining to the lunch break, India gained 40 runs in addition to New Zealand's opening innings total.

India Got Momentum
Pant dominated the first set of the day with three major boundaries off Ajaz Patel in the very first over. It was a clear sign from Pant that intended to make the day different. Gill followed him by throwing aggressive moves against the spinners. With a handful of chances including a dropped ball from both cricketers, their hard approach opened up scores to the next level. Shubman took the swing against Glover, but unfortunately, the crowd gave away a beautiful over from the far off zone.

Rishabh Pulled Straight And Free

  • Their technique was truly excellent with Gill and Pant batting quickly while the bowlers were creating challenges against them.
Pant was leading firmly, and in their short experience they are clearly maintaining momentum with Rishabh and keeping the rate to 6.
