Cricket News: Ghazanfar Stars in Afghanistan's 92-run Victory Over Bangladesh

Ghazanfar's Second Spell Spells Doom for Bangladesh

Allah Ghazanfar, Afghanistan's 18-year-old offspinner, made a remarkable comeback in the first ODI against Bangladesh, picking up 6 wickets for just 26 runs in a spell of 4 overs.

"I didn't bowl good balls in the first spell, but I wanted to come back stronger in the second spell," Ghazanfar said after the game. He achieved his objective, wreaking havoc to help Afghanistan bag a 92-run victory.

Ghazanfar Credits Teammates for Support

Ghazanfar credited Afghan spinners Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi for supporting him during the match. "Rashid and Nabi's roles are crucial for my bowling. They give me handy advice during the match, and it gives good results," he said.

Ghazanfar's Rise to Prominence

Ghazanfar's impressive performance has made him a standout talent in Afghanistan's cricket circuit. He began his journey as a pace bowler but was later turned into a mystery spinner by former Afghan skipper Dawlat Ahmadzai.

Ghazanfar has already made a name for himself in international cricket, featuring in the ODI series against South Africa in September and the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. His impressive performances have also made him known as the new Mujeeb-ur-Rahman in Afghanistan's cricket circuit.
