India to treat series as three-match Test series

With the series now tied at 1-1, India will now treat this as a three-match Test series, according to Shubman Gill. Speaking ahead of the third Test at the Gabba, Gill also confirmed that Rohit Sharma didn't attend the practice session since it was an optional one.

Gill expressed nostalgia for his return to the Gabba, where his 91 helped set up India's famous win on the 2020-21 tour. He stated that the team's performance in the Adelaide Test was not ideal, but the series remains tied at 1-1.

On his own form, Gill attributed his downfall in the first innings to not being on strike for a brief period and struggling with the pink ball under lights. He emphasized the challenges of playing the game he wants to play despite the circumstances at the other end and the scorecard.

Gill also highlighted the difficulties of playing Test cricket in Australia, particularly maintaining intensity over five days. He noted that the mental intensity and mental fitness required to tour Australia, especially at the Gabba, are significant challenges.
