South Africa Stuns Pakistan in Thrilling Test Match

Bavuma's Dismissal Sparks Collapse, But Jansen and Rabada Steal the Show

South Africa's Temba Bavuma was left "hiding in the toilet" after being caught behind off Mohammad Abbas, sparking a collapse of five wickets for 37 runs in 48 deliveries. However, Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada had other plans, as they put on an unbeaten stand of 51 off 50 to seal a thrilling win for the home side.

Jansen and Rabada's Unbeaten Stand

Jansen nudged and Rabada hammered South Africa home, with Rabada calling his unbeaten 31 "without a doubt" his best batting performance in Tests. The stand was studded with five fours, and Rabada's innings was described as "the one innings I'll remember for the rest of my life" by Bavuma.

Conrad's Words of Wisdom

Conrad, who was seen having a smoke break with Jansen and Rabada, shared some words of wisdom with his teammates. "Whatever decision you're going to take as to how you want to go about your business, go full out," he said. "If we get close, I don't want you to start fiddling around. Back yourselves however you want to play it from the start."

Pakistan's Disappointment

Pakistan's Shan Masood was left to talk about a loss, their seventh in nine Tests. "We can only look at ourselves," he said. "The message for us is very clear. We're good at competing. We've competed well when we're playing in conditions like Australia and South Africa. We have to be ruthless and we have to finish games off. We have to seize moments."

South Africa's Thrilling Win

South Africa's win was their first in nine Tests, and it was a thrilling one. The home side had only Jansen, Rabada, and Dane Paterson left to score the 32 runs they still needed to beat Pakistan and nail down a place in the WTC final at Lord's in June.
