BCB Director, Najmul Abedin, Threatens to Resign Over Differences with Board President

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director, Najmul Abedin, has expressed his intention to step down from his role due to disagreements with the board president, Faruque Ahmed.

Najmul Abedin, in an interview with a local TV channel and further elaborating to Cricbuzz, stated that many aspects of his role have not met his expectations. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs and mentioned that if the situation does not improve, he might reconsider his position at the BCB.

"I may not like it and maybe I can think of going off (from BCB)," Najmul told Cricbuzz.

Najmul Abedin, a prominent local coach, has been involved in cricket for over 40 years. He mentioned that he is well aware of the changes required in certain areas and that the ongoing issues have been hurtful.

The strained relationship between Najmul Abedin and Faruque Ahmed is an open secret within the cricket fraternity. Despite introducing and recommending Faruque Ahmed for his post, Najmul Abedin insisted that such a divide should not exist.

"From my side, that should not be the case (having differences with Faruque)," he said.

Faruque Ahmed, in response, attributed the rift to a misunderstanding and communication gap. He emphasized the need for open discussions to resolve any issues within the organization.

"If anyone has anything to say, he can come to me and we can solve that," Faruque concluded.
