Remember the name: Lhuan-Dre Pretorius

Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, playing his first franchise T20, hammered an international attack for 97 off 51 balls. He was given out LBW but reviewed the decision upon his partner's insistence.

His innings was noticed by Ben Stokes, who praised Pretorius for showcasing his talent on a big stage. Pretorius considers Stokes as his brother's role model and feels honored by his recognition.

Aiden Markram, a Titans teammate, also praised Pretorius's performance and expressed excitement about his potential. Stokes, a fierce competitor, might be relieved to miss the upcoming match against Pretorius due to a torn hamstring.

Pretorius had a successful first-class debut, scoring 120 for Northerns against Eastern Province. He was the leading run-scorer for South Africa in the under-19 World Cup, with 287 runs in six innings.

Pretorius shared an opening stand of 132 off 78 with Joe Root, allowing Royals to chase their target of 176 with nine wickets standing. Root rotated the strike effectively, allowing Pretorius to hit most of the boundaries.

When asked about his unique name, Pretorius mentioned that he cannot reveal how he got it but leaves the hyphen out when writing it down. His brother's name is Vihan, also spelled unusually, and he is still in school, following in his sibling's footsteps.
