Bangladesh Women fall to West Indies Women in series opener

In the first ODI, West Indies dominated Bangladesh with a comprehensive 9-wicket win. After choosing to bat, Bangladesh started strongly with Sharmin Akhter and Murshida Khatun scoring steadily. However, their progress was halted after both were dismissed by West Indies captain Hayley Matthews, causing Bangladesh to collapse from 115/2 to 198 all out.

Matthews and opening partner Qiana Joseph made light work of the target, reaching 104* and 70* respectively, as West Indies achieved the total in just 31.4 overs.

Brief scores: Bangladesh Women 198/9 (Sharmin Akhter 42, Murshida Khatun 40) vs West Indies Women 202/1 (Hayley Matthews 104*, Qiana Joseph 70)
