Muzarabani's 7-fer gives Zimbabwe early edge

Zimbabwe's Muzarabani registers career-best 7 for 58

Blessing Muzarabani's impressive bowling performance headlined the opening day's play of the only Test between Zimbabwe and Ireland in Bulawayo. Muzarabani's 7 for 58 was the highlight of the day, as Ireland was bowled out for 260.

Ireland's fightback

Ireland's seventh wicket stand between Andy McBrine (90*) and Mark Adair (78) was a spirited fightback, with the pair putting on 127 runs. Zimbabwe made a good start in their innings, reaching 72/1 at the end of the day's play, trailing by 188 runs.

Zimbabwe's openers off to a steady start

Zimbabwe's openers, Ben Curran and Takudzwanashe Kaitano, started well, with four boundaries between them in the first six overs. However, Curran was dismissed for a duck, and Zimbabwe slowed down in the subsequent overs.
