Kane Williamson Signs Two-Year Contract with Middlesex

Kane Williamson, former New Zealand captain, has signed a two-year contract with Middlesex, effective from the 2025 English summer. He will play for the London-based club in the T20 Blast and the County Championship.

Availability

Williamson will be available for at least 10 T20 Blast group fixtures and 5 County Championship games in the second half of the season. He will also play for the London Spirit in the Hundred from May to September.

Middlesex's Expectations

Middlesex finished third in Division Two of the County Championship in 2024 and aims to fight for promotion with Williamson on board. They struggled in the Vitality Blast, finishing eighth in the South Group.

Williamson's Thoughts

"I've played a bit of county cricket in the past, but not for a number of years now, so when this opportunity arose with Middlesex it was a really exciting prospect," Williamson said. "To be able to play for Middlesex – a fine club with a rich heritage – is really exciting and something that I'm really looking forward to being a part of."

Middlesex's Director of Cricket

Alan Coleman, Middlesex's Director of Cricket, described securing Williamson's services as a "real coup" and is eager to see the positive impact he will have on the squad. "We are hugely excited about Kane joining Middlesex this summer and are looking forward to him making a positive impact in both our Blast and Championship campaigns."
