Mehidy Hasan's Masterclass Spin Bowling Leads Bangladesh to Win

Mehidy Hasan's incredible all-round performance helped Bangladesh level the series 1-1 against Zimbabwe, with a convincing win by an innings and 106 runs.

Mehidy's century, scored from 161 balls, was instrumental in Bangladesh posting a competitive total of 444. He then took 5 wickets for 32 runs, as Zimbabwe was bundled out for 111, giving Bangladesh a dominant victory.

In an interview, Mehidy credited his coach, Babul Sir, and team manager Nafees Iqbal bhai, for their support. He also mentioned that he was lucky not to lose his wicket on 98 runs, and thanked his teammates Hasan Mahmud, Shakib al Hasan, and Taijul Islam for their support.

Mehidy also addressed the issue of struggling against bouncers, saying that he has faced and overcome such challenges before. He took it as a challenge to hit a six off a bouncer and succeeded.

The all-rounder's best day of his career was marked by a wonderful display of spin bowling, as Zimbabwe lost 8 wickets in the final session. Mehidy ended with figures of 5 for 32.

When asked about his ambitions, Mehidy clarified that he is not trying to become the next Shakib al Hasan, but rather wants to play his own game. He believes that the team has faith in his batting and he is taking on a leading role, which comes with greater responsibility.
