IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals rope in Sediqullah Atal as Harry Brook replacement

Delhi Capitals have picked Afghanistan's Sediqullah Atal as a replacement for Harry Brook.

Brook withdrew from IPL 2025 due to personal reasons and faces a potential two-season ban under new IPL regulations. Atal will join DC for his base price of INR 1.25 Crore, confirmed the BCCI.

The 23-year-old Atal has a strike-rate of 131 in 49 T20s. He has played three games for MI Cape Town in the SA20, including a 74 off 46 innings while opening against Pretoria Capitals.

Atal has also represented Afghanistan in 9 T20Is, 9 ODIs, and 1 Test. He joins the Capitals during a fluctuating season where they started with four consecutive wins but have since slipped to fifth spot. The Capitals remain in contention for a playoff berth.
