India 'A' Squad for England Tour Likely by May 13; Easwaran, Karun Among Front-Runners
The selection process for the India 'A' squad for the upcoming tour of England is nearing completion, with the squad expected to be announced on May 13. According to sources, the selectors may have finalized the squad during a meeting at the Cricket Centre in Mumbai on May 6.
Abhimanyu Easwaran is the prime candidate for captaincy, and the squad is likely to include players like Tanush Kotian, Baba Indrajith, Akash Deep, and Karun Nair. Dhruv Jurel and Nitish Reddy will be part of the initial squad, with a possibility of being drafted into the senior team later.
The selection process has been complicated by the postponement of the IPL, with the BCCI advising the selectors to pick a squad comprising non-IPL players and those from teams that are out of contention for the playoffs.
