IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans Resume Training Amid Uncertainty

The Gujarat Titans have started practising for the rest of the season, despite the continued uncertainty over the resumption of the suspended IPL 2025 season. The Shubman Gill-led side had a long nets session on Sunday evening, which lasted for over three hours.

Foreign Players Attend Nets

Kagiso Rabada and Sherfane Rutherford attended the nets along with star India players like Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj.

Punjab Kings Coaching Staff Stay Back

All members of the coaching staff, including Ricky Ponting, Brad Haddin, and James Hopes, have chosen to stay back in India, despite the overseas players departing and domestic players returning to their respective homes.

Ponting decided to stay back even as other overseas PBKS players left.

PBKS Squad Status

The team has six overseas players – Josh Iglis (England), Marcus Stoinis (Australia), Marco Jansen (South Africa), Azmatullah Omarzai (Afghanistan), Aaron Hardie (Australia), Xavier Bartlett (Australia) – apart from overseas members of the support staff.

Mitch Owen's Status

Mitch Owen, another Australian, who was signed on as an injury replacement for Maxwell, is believed to be stuck in Dubai for want of travel documents.

IPL Resumption Timeline

There has been no formal communication from the BCCI to the franchises regarding the likely timeline for the resumption of the IPL. The franchises are still waiting to hear from the board.
