Mike Hesson Named Pakistan's New White-Ball Coach

Mike Hesson has been appointed as the new white-ball coach of Pakistan's national men's team, effective May 26. The 50-year-old New Zealander has a strong coaching background, having led the New Zealand men's team from 2012-2018 and also coaching Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League from 2019-2023.

Hesson's first assignment as Pakistan coach will be the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, although the schedule for those fixtures may change. He replaces Aqib Javed, who served as the interim white-ball coach after Gary Kirsten's sudden resignation in October 2024.

PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi praised Hesson, saying he brings a wealth of international experience and a proven track record of developing competitive sides.
