BCB Awaits Government Clearance for Pakistan Tour
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is awaiting government clearance before finalizing the upcoming tour of Pakistan for the five-match T20I series. The tour is scheduled to start on May 27 and conclude on June 5.
According to the revised itinerary sent by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the first three matches are scheduled in Faisalabad on May 27, 29, and June 1, while the final two T20Is will take place in Lahore on June 3 and 5.
However, players and officials are concerned about traveling to Pakistan due to security issues. BCB president Faruque Ahmed has emphasized that the governing body cannot take any decision without speaking to the respective parties during this sensitive time.
"We have sent a letter to NSC to give it to the ministry (sports) yesterday (May 13). Day before yesterday I had given a message to the advisor (sports) regarding the tour and even today I had spoken with him in this regard," Faruque said.
The BCB president also mentioned that they need to get clearance from the government and then speak with the players before finalizing the tour.
