Sherfane Rutherford Traded to Barbados Royals

Sherfane Rutherford has joined the Barbados Royals in a trade deal with the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The deal sees Jason Holder and Alick Athanaze move to the Patriots.

Jason Holder's move away from the Royals is a landmark one, as he will play away from the Barbados-based franchise for the first time in his CPL career. He has played for the franchise since the inaugural edition in 2013 and was part of the championship winning sides in 2014 and 2019.

Alick Athanaze, 26, is also part of the move to the Patriots. He had a middling season in 2024, scoring 179 runs as the Royals made a run to the Qualifiers.

The CPL will take place from August 14 to September 21.
