England's top three batters all scored centuries as they amassed 498/3 on the opening day against Zimbabwe.
Ben Duckett set the tone with an aggressive 140, his fifth Test century. He shared a 231-run opening stand with Zak Crawley, who reached his own century at a more sedate pace.
Ollie Pope continued the onslaught after Duckett's dismissal, smashing 169 not out.
Zimbabwe's bowlers struggled to contain the England batsmen, with only Blessing Muzarabani and Wesley Madhevere taking wickets.
