Faruque Ahmed Removed as BCB President Following NSC Pullout

The National Sports Council (NSC) has terminated Faruque Ahmed's position as their representative on the BCB's board of directors. This move has resulted in his removal as BCB president.

Background

Faruque Ahmed was nominated as a councilor by the NSC when he took charge following Nazmul Hasan's ouster last year.

Removal Process

Eight BCB directors voted in favour of Faruque Ahmed's removal from the role of BCB president. The NSC cited Section 13.2(b)(4) of its act to justify the cancellation of Faruque's position on the BCB board.

Replacement

Former national captain Aminul Islam is expected to replace Faruque as BCB president.
