Stuart Broad to Help South Africa Prepare for WTC Final
Stuart Broad, the former England fast bowler, will join South Africa's men's squad on June 9 at Lord's to help the team prepare for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia. Broad will work as a consultant for the day, sharing his expertise with the team.
Conrad's Involvement
Shukri Conrad, South Africa's red-ball coach, reached out to Broad through Ashwell Prince, a former Nottinghamshire player who knows Broad. Conrad wanted to tap into Broad's knowledge and experience, particularly his success against Australia.
Broad's Role
Broad will spend an hour or so at South Africa's nets, sharing his insights with the coaches. He is not a full-time consultant, but Conrad believes it would be foolish not to utilize his expertise. Broad's knowledge of bowling at Lord's and his experience against Australia will be valuable assets for the South African team.
Klaasen's Retirement
Heinrich Klaasen, a 33-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, recently retired from Test cricket and white-ball international cricket. Conrad believes Klaasen's decision to retire was not solely due to the team's new coaching structure, but rather for personal reasons.
