Andhra Cricket Association Revives Women's T20 League

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has decided to revive the IPL-style league for women cricketers, with plans to scale up to feature four teams. The league, previously known as the Andhra Women's T20 League, was discontinued last year.

The women's league will be held independently of the six-team Andhra Premier League for men, but plans are in place to hold them simultaneously at the same venue in August for logistical and operational convenience.

The ACA will initially run the women's league, but intends to introduce franchises in the future. A women's committee will be formed to oversee women's cricket activities, with a selection committee consisting of only women members.

Mithali Raj, former India women's captain and convenor of women's cricket in the state, will play a key role in the revival of the women's league.
