Ashwin Fined for On-Field Outburst in TNPL Game

Ravichandran Ashwin has been fined 30% of his match fee for dissent and misuse of equipment during a Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) match between Dindigul Dragons and Tiruppur Tamizhans.

Ashwin was adjudged lbw to R. Sai Kishore, despite the ball appearing to have pitched outside leg stump. He expressed dissent towards the umpires and was fined 10% for dissent and 20% for misuse of equipment.

The incident occurred during the match played under lights at the Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science Cricket Ground. Ashwin, captaining Dindigul Dragons, had no review available at the time of his dismissal.

Ashwin made 18 off 11 balls, including two fours and a six, before his dismissal triggered a collapse. Dindigul lost their remaining nine wickets for just 54 runs. Tiruppur Tamizhans completed the win with nine wickets in hand and 49 balls to spare.

Dindigul Dragons currently sit fifth on the TNPL points table, with one win and one loss from two games.
