Ruturaj Gaikwad Joins Yorkshire in County Championship

Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has signed a deal with Yorkshire for the County Championship, joining the squad ahead of their fixture against Surrey next month.

Gaikwad's Background

Gaikwad, 28, has played 29 matches for India across ODIs and T20Is, but has a strong record in first-class cricket with seven centuries and in List A with 16 centuries.

Quote from Gaikwad

"I'm excited to be joining up with Yorkshire for the rest of the English domestic season. It has always been a goal of mine to experience cricket in this country and there is no bigger Club in England than Yorkshire."

Quote from Head Coach Anthony McGrath

"I'm extremely pleased to see Ruturaj sign with us for the second half of the season. He is a very accomplished cricketer with a natural all-round game that is well suited to the cricket we want to play."
