West Indies Make Sweeping Changes for Australia Tests

West Indies have announced a fresh-look Test squad for the upcoming home Tests against Australia, marking the start of their 2025-27 Test Championship Cycle. The squad sees limited-overs skipper Shai Hope recalled, while veteran pacer Kemar Roach has been left out.

The top-order has been bolstered with the inclusion of John Campbell and 24-year-old Kevlon Anderson, who has been impressive in the domestic setup. Anderson scored 573 runs in 11 innings in the West Indies Championship 2024/25, including three centuries.

Squad: Roston Chase (Captain), Jomel Warrican (Vice Captain), Kevlon Anderson, Kraigg Brathwaite, John Campbell, Keacy Carty, Justin Greaves, Shai Hope, Tevin Imlach, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Johann Layne, Mikyle Louis, Anderson Phillip, Jayden Seales

Head coach Daren Sammy expressed excitement about the inclusion of Anderson and Hope, saying they will provide stability in the top order and consistency in white ball cricket, respectively. Brandon King's inclusion is aimed at addressing a specific role in the team.

The bowling unit has also seen some fresh faces, including 21-year-old Johann Layne, who has picked 63 wickets in 17 first-class fixtures, and Anderson Phillip, who recently took a five-fer for West Indies A against South Africa A.

The first Test will start on June 25 in Barbados.
