Morkel on Bumrah's Form and Fitness

India bowling coach Morne Morkel is impressed with Jasprit Bumrah's rhythm during practice sessions ahead of the England series. Bumrah had a landmark series in Australia, but suffered a back injury that kept him out of the final day of the series in Sydney.

Morkel said: "Bumrah knows how to get himself ready, he knows how to prepare. I was blown away to see the energy on the ball the last three days. That's very exciting to see. I'm happy his body is in good shape at the moment."

Managing Bumrah's Workload

Morkel reiterated the importance of managing Bumrah's workload, as he is key" for the team. India will be smart with him, considering he will only play three Tests on the England tour.

Nitish Rana's Bowling

Morkel wants to see Nitish Rana bowl more, as he believes Rana can be a valuable bowling option. "The more bowling options we can have, that's great. He's skillful. He's a guy that can bowl that magical ball, so for him it's about creating that consistency."

Match Fitness

Morkel emphasized the importance of the team getting match fit as quickly as possible, especially considering the heavy outfields and cold conditions in England.

India will have an intra-squad warm-up game from June 13 to June 16 at Beckenham, followed by the first Test in Leeds from June 20.
