Mehidy to Return for Second Test in Colombo

Bangladesh expects Test vice-captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz to be fit for selection in the second game of the ongoing two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Mehidy missed the two-day session ahead of the opening Test due to fever and was subsequently rested from the series opener. However, he joined the training session on Thursday, quashing doubts about his availability for the second Test.

Team manager Nafees Iqbal confirmed Mehidy is recovering well from the fever and is likely to be available for selection.

Top-order batter Anamul Haque Bijoy replaced Mehidy in the opening Test but failed to make an impact, scoring a duck in the first innings.

Mehidy's return will bolster the side, especially with the Colombo pitch expected to offer assistance to spinners. The second Test is scheduled to begin on June 25.

Mushtaq Ahmed to Return for ODI Series

Spin bowling consultant Mushtaq Ahmed left Galle on June 17, ahead of the ongoing Test, and is expected to return during the ODI series, which begins in early July.
