Duckett, Pope Lead England's Counter-Attack

England fought back into the game after India's dominant batting display, with the hosts losing their last seven wickets for just 41 runs to be bowled out for 471. England's batting then made rapid strides, racing to 107 for 1 by Tea.

Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope led the charge, severe on everything in their scoring zones and keeping the strike rotating frequently. Duckett reached his fifty with a sweep off Ravindra Jadeja, while Pope remained unbeaten on 48 by Tea.

Earlier, India had threatened to get more with Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant continuing from where they left off overnight at 359 for 3. Pant broke free, given the base that India had already built up, and reached his hundred with a swept six off Shoaib Bashir.

The partnership between Gill and Pant was worth 209 runs for the fourth wicket, but England fought back, taking four wickets for 42 runs in the first session. Josh Tongue picked up the last three wickets of the innings soon after the Lunch interval, continuing England's comeback with the ball.

Brief Scores:
India 471 all out (Shubman Gill 147, Rishabh Pant 134, Yashasvi Jaiswal 101; Ben Stokes 4-66, Josh Tongue 4-86)
England 107/1 (Ben Duckett 52*, Ollie Pope 48*)
