Rahul, Pant Keep India Steady
KL Rahul's measured half-century and his partnership with Rishabh Pant have kept India steady on the fourth day of the Headingley Test. Despite an early setback, the duo thwarted England's attempts at making further incisions and guided the lead past 150 runs by lunch.
Rahul brought up his first half-century of the tour, while Pant smashed a boundary off Chris Woakes. England burned a review in their desperation to see the back of Pant, but Rahul continued to bat time. He found himself in trouble when he attempted to guide a delivery towards third man, but hit it straight to Harry Brook who couldn't pluck an overhead catch.
Rahul weathered the storm against the English pace attack, punching Ben Stokes through the covers to move into the 70s. Pant kept Bashir out to make sure India didn't let go of the slight advantage.
