The Frustrating Wait Continues for Mosaddek and Nurul

Bangladesh chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain announced the ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka, ignoring domestic performers Mosaddek Hossain and Nurul Hasan.

Hossain stated that Mosaddek doesn't have a place in the squad as long as Mehidy Hasan Miraz is part of the team. He also explained that Nurul can't be accommodated due to team balance, as Litton Das needs to prepare for the World Cup next year.

Nurul's Exclusion

Nurul scored 522 runs at an average of 58.00, including two centuries and two half-centuries, in the Dhaka Premier League. However, Hossain believes that allowing Litton Das to play regularly in ODIs will help him carry over his rhythm and performance into T20s.

Mosaddek's Case

Mosaddek scored 487 runs at an average of 48.70 and took 30 wickets in the Dhaka Premier League. Hossain stated that Mosaddek is still in their plans, but he's not in the front line at the moment.

Hope for the Future

Hossain gave hope to both Mosaddek and Nurul, stating that they are keeping them in their canvas and will get opportunities in the future. He believes that Nurul is at the peak of his form and experience and hopes to see him in the starting eleven soon.

Criticism of the Selection Panel

The selection panel has been criticized for sidelining domestic performances in favour of star names.
