BCB Celebrates Silver Jubilee of Test Status

Honours Board Unveiled at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) marked the silver jubilee of achieving Test status with a special program at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The event celebrated 25 years since Bangladesh played their inaugural Test match against India on November 10, 2000.

Test Honours Board

A commemorative cabinet was set up beside the Honours Board, displaying all the trophies won by Bangladesh players. The Test Honours Board bears the names of all Bangladesh Test cricketers, including current players like Nayeem Hasan and Nahid Rana.

Reunion Programme

The reunion programme brought together many players who featured in Bangladesh's first Test against India in 2000. However, five members of that squad were unable to attend due to personal reasons.

BCB President's Message

BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul led the ceremony, which aimed to celebrate 25 years of Test cricket and give a wake-up call to the cricket community in the country.

Players' Memories

Habibul Bashar, who got a chance to play at the last minute, remembered the thrill of his call-up. He recalled how Aminul bhai passed the message to him through Shovon bhai since they didn't have phones at that time.
