Cloud hangs over India's scheduled tour of Bangladesh

The India tour of Bangladesh is effectively off, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) putting preparations for the short white-ball series on ice due to deteriorating diplomatic relations between the countries.

The BCB had planned to sell its media rights for the series, but has now paused the sale and is instead focusing on the three-match T20I home series against Pakistan, scheduled from July 17 to 25.

A BCB official told Cricbuzz that the board is hopeful of rescheduling the India series for a later date, but no official announcement has been made. The official also mentioned that the BCCI has not provided the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the India series, and that the sale of the document has been deferred.

The mood in India is not favourable for a tour of Bangladesh, with relations between the two countries having been strained in recent times. While no official statement has been made by either side, it is believed that the government has advised the BCCI against proceeding with the tour.
