  • Sam Konstas was dismissed for 17 in the morning session.
  • Usman Khawaja was sent packing for 23 in the second session.
  • Cameron Green was beaten by Jayden Seales for 46.
  • Steve Smith was dismissed for 48, playing a slash outside the off-stump.
  • Beau Webster edged a ball to Shai Hope for just one.
  • Travis Head attempted to hit Justin Greaves over extra cover but didn't time the shot too well.
  • Alex Carey inside edged one to Hope for 21.
  • Mitchell Starc was cleaned up for a duck in his 100th Test.
  • Pat Cummins threw his bat at a full ball and found Kevlon at long-on.
  • Josh Hazlewood cut a ball straight to deep point to wrap up the innings.

West Indies' Innings

West Indies lost debutant opener Kevlon Anderson to Mitchell Starc, but Brandon King and Roston Chase negotiated the little that was left in the day to finish on 19/1.

Brief Scores: West Indies 16/1 trail Australia 225 (Steve Smith 48, Cameron Green 46; Shamar Joseph 4-33, Justin Greaves 3-56, Jayden Seales 3-59) by 209 runs
