Australia Hold Edge After 15-Wicket Day at Sabina Park
Australia held on to a slightly stronger position with a 181-run lead, and four wickets still in hand, at the end of the second day's play at Sabina Park in Kingston.
West Indies' Innings
West Indies resumed play on Sunday at 16 for 1, after having bundled out Australia for 225 on the opening day. Brandon King was trapped lbw by Josh Hazlewood, and Roston Chase was defiant before edging one to slips off Pat Cummins. West Indies looked steady at 73 for 3 at Lunch, but Australian pacers ripped through the hosts in the second session, with John Campbell, Mikyle Louis, and Shai Hope being cleaned up.
Australia's Second Innings
The visitors, however, couldn't run away with the advantage. West Indies hit back with the ball, with Sam Konstas getting a thick outside edge to gully to be dismissed for a duck. Cameron Green looked steady, but Usman Khawaja was cleaned up for 14. Alzarri Joseph wreaked havoc, knocking over the stumps of Steve Smith and Beau Webster. Travis Head was caught edging to the second slip. Late in the day, Alzarri had Alex Carey dismissed for a three-ball duck.
Cameron Green survived to head to stumps unbeaten on 42, with the company of skipper Pat Cummins, as they played out the last nine overs of the day without any damage.
