England Recall Liam Dawson for Fourth Test Against India

England have recalled left-arm spinner Liam Dawson to their Test squad for the fourth Test against India at Old Trafford, Manchester. Dawson replaces Shoaib Bashir, who was ruled out of the series due to a finger fracture.

Dawson, 35, last played a Test for England in July 2017 against South Africa. He has been a consistent performer for Hampshire, earning the PCA Player of the Year award in 2023 and 2024.

The squad remains unchanged from the one announced ahead of the third Test, with bowlers Sam Cook and Jamie Overton returning to their counties to play in the County Championship.

Luke Wright, England Men's National Selector, praised Dawson's selection, saying: "Liam Dawson deserves his call-up. He has been in outstanding form in the County Championship and consistently puts in strong performances for Hampshire."
