
Andre Russell set to call time on international career
West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell is set to retire from international cricket. He has been named in the T20I squad for the series against Australia and will play the first two matches at Sabina Park in Jamaica. It is understood that he will not travel to St. Kitts and Nevis for the remaining three matches of the series.
The now 37-year-old Russell has made 84 appearances in T20Is for the West Indies with 1078 runs and 61 wickets. He was also part of the winning team in the 2012 and 2016 T20 World Cup editions.
The squad also includes maiden T20I call-ups for Jewel Andrew and Jediah Blades. Seasoned campaigners Akeal Hosein, Jason Holder, and Rovman Powell have also been named in the 16-man squad.

The series will be played from June 20 to June 28. The first three games will be played at Sabina Park in Jamaica while the final three games will be hosted by Warner Park in St. Kitts.
