Nitish Reddy Ruled Out of England Tour with Serious Knee Injury
Team India has suffered a major setback ahead of the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, one of the standout performers in the third Test at Lord's, has sustained a serious knee injury and is likely to miss the remainder of the series.
Reddy (22) sustained the injury during a mobility training session and will undergo scans to determine the exact nature and extent of the injury. As of now, it does not look encouraging for the young all-rounder, who had claimed three crucial wickets upfront in both innings at Lord's and scored 43 crucial runs for the team.
This development comes on the heels of pacer Akash Deep being ruled out of the Manchester Test due to a back injury, along with fellow pacer Arshdeep Singh. The Indian team may have to fall back on Shardul Thakur, who was preferred to Nitish in the first Test at Leeds.
