BCB Considers Allowing Foreign Players in NCL

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is considering allowing one foreign player in every National Cricket League (NCL) team to increase competitiveness in the country's traditional first-class tournament.

NCL Schedule

The NCL is scheduled to take place from October 15 to November 30.

Benefits of Foreign Players

According to a BCB official, allowing foreign players will help the league become more competitive and provide local talent with the opportunity to hone their skills against international players.

Challenges

The biggest challenge lies in the availability of foreign cricketers, as other countries also play first-class cricket during the same period.

NCL T20 and Other Tournaments

The BCB is planning to start the season with NCL T20, scheduled from September 14 to October 4, and has chosen three grounds for the tournament. The Bangladesh Cricket League, a franchise-based tournament in the 50-over format, is planned from December 4-10, while the BCL four-day competition will begin in February.

Foreign Team Participation

The BCB is likely to bring in a foreign team, possibly from Afghanistan, to participate in the BCL.
