Shardul Thakur has been named captain of the West Zone squad for the upcoming Duleep Trophy matches. The team consists of 15 players, including seven from Mumbai, four from Gujarat, and two each from Maharashtra and Saurashtra.

The notable Mumbai players in the squad are Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, and Sarfaraz Khan, while Maharashtra's Ruturaj Gaikwad is also part of the team. Former India regulars Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have been left out of the squad.
