Suryakumar Yadav Undergoes Rehabilitation at NCA Ahead of Asia Cup
Suryakumar Yadav has checked into the National Cricket Academy's Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for rehabilitation and fitness assessments, aiming to be fit in time for the Asia Cup. The India T20I captain recently reported to the facility after undergoing hernia surgery in Munich in June.
The West Zone selectors left him out of the Duleep Trophy squad, citing his unavailability due to the rehab process. Suryakumar is expected to lead India in the Asia Cup, scheduled from September 9 to 28.
Shreyas Iyer Visits CoE for Fitness Tests
Shreyas Iyer, another Mumbai stalwart, visited the CoE last week for fitness tests. He has since returned to Mumbai and is reportedly fit and ready for action. Iyer is expected to feature in the Duleep Trophy, unless he is selected for the Asia Cup.
Duleep Trophy Schedule
The four-day Duleep Trophy matches begin on August 28 in Bengaluru, with the West Zone side playing their first match from September 4.
