London Spirit Down Oval Invincibles in Thrilling London Derby

London Spirit opened their Women's Hundred 2025 campaign with a comfortable 17-run victory over Oval Invincibles in a thrilling London derby. The match saw two Australian stars, Grace Harris and Meg Lanning, shine with the bat.

Harris top-scored with 89 not out, while Lanning made 85, but it was Harris's aggressive batting that helped Spirit post 176/5. Cordelia Griffith chipped in with a fine 50, and the duo's 100-run partnership was the highlight of the innings.

Invincibles' chase was dented early when skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill was trapped LBW by Tara Norris. Alice Capsey and Lanning shared a 37-run stand, but Sarah Glenn broke the partnership to leave Lanning to rebuild. Kapp and Lanning shared a 77-run stand, but Issy Wong cleaned up Kapp to put Spirit ahead again. Lanning eventually fell on the 93rd ball, spelling doom for Invincibles' chase.

Brief scores: London Spirit 176/5 (Harris 89*, Griffith 50) beat Oval Invincibles 159/4 (Lanning 85, Kapp 33) by 17 runs.
