Brydon Carse has been ruled out of The Hundred 2025 after consultation with the England medical staff.
He will be replaced by Lancashire quick Mitchell Stanley.
"At the end of a long series against India and following consultation with the medical staff, I am sadly not able to play for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred this year," Carse said. "I look forward to watching on from the sidelines and to representing the team again in the future."
Carse bowled 155 overs in four Tests against India in the recently-concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy before being rested for the last Test at the Oval.
The rest is a way to manage his workload with a hectic cricket schedule ahead for England – a white-ball series against South Africa in September and tours of Ireland and New Zealand over the next couple of months before the big away Ashes series.
England are also being cautious with the fast bowler who suffered a foot injury at the start of 2025 during the white-ball tour of India and ended up missing the subsequent Champions Trophy.
