
Saint Lucia Kings hold their nerve to pick up first win
Saint Lucia Kings picked up their first win of CPL 2025 in thrilling fashion as they overpowered a spirited St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in a last-ball decider.
The Kings posted 200/8 in their 20 overs, with Roston Chase scoring 61 and Johnson Charles 52. Kyle Mayers took 2 wickets for the Patriots.
The Patriots were set 201 to win and recovered thanks to Jason Holder's whirlwind fifty. However, they fell short by three runs.
Andre Fletcher gave the Patriots a strong start, but David Wiese and Khary Pierre took three wickets in quick succession. Rilee Rossouw also fell cheaply.
Holder then took charge, hitting 18 off Tabraiz Shamsi's first over and continuing to accelerate the chase. Navian Bidaisee struggled initially, but found his form later in the innings.
With 6 needed from 5 balls, Jyd Goolie failed to score off successive deliveries, leaving Bidaisee to face the final ball. He could only find the fielder at long-on, where David completed the catch.
