Netherlands Recall Zulfiqar, Braat for Bangladesh T20Is
The Netherlands have announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, with Sikander Zulfiqar and Sebastiaan Braat returning to the team.
Zulfiqar, who last played T20Is six years ago, and Braat, who last appeared in 2021, join 17-year-old Cedric de Lange in the squad. The trio replaces injured players Ryan Klein and Fred Klaassen, as well as Saqib Zulfiqar, who made himself unavailable due to personal reasons.
Captain Scott Edwards expressed excitement about the new additions, saying: "It's always exciting to bring a youngster into the squad. Cedric has been impressive all summer and he's really earned this call-up."
He also welcomed Braat back to the team, praising his strong summer performances at club and domestic level. Edwards added that Zulfiqar's ability to clear the fence late in the game will be a valuable asset to the team.
The series is set to begin on August 30 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, with the next two games scheduled for September 1 and 3.
