R Samarth to Replace Karun Nair at Vidarbha

Vidarbha is set to sign Ravikumar Samarth, a 32-year-old Karnataka batter, as a professional for the upcoming domestic season. This move comes as a replacement for Karun Nair, who has decided to move back to his home state due to personal reasons.

Samarth, a veteran of 95 first-class games, has played for Karnataka before moving to Uttarakhand last season. In his lone season with Uttarakhand, he scored 649 runs in first-class, 385 runs in List A, and 184 runs in T20 formats, with impressive averages of over 54, 55, and 30 respectively.

Overall, Samarth has 6157 runs at an average of 39.72 in his 95 career first-class games. Vidarbha has been looking for a suitable replacement for Nair, who guided the team to Ranji champions last year, scoring 863 runs in nine games.

This move marks Vidarbha's continued trend of recruiting batting mainstays from Karnataka, following the footsteps of Ganesh Satish and Karun Nair.
