R Ashwin in Talks with ILT20, May Register for Auction
R Ashwin, the former Indian cricketer, has expressed interest in participating in the International League T20 (ILT20) and is likely to register for the auction. The league, which will run from December 2 to January 4 next year, has introduced an auction system for recruiting players.
Ashwin confirmed his interest in the league, stating, "Yes, I am in talks with the organisers. Hopefully, I will have a buyer if I register for the auction." The registration process is currently underway, with September 10 as the last date for enrolment.
If Ashwin is picked in the auction, he would become the biggest name from Indian cricket to feature in the UAE league. The 38-year-old all-rounder has a rich experience in international cricket, having played 282 games across formats.
The ILT20 has already recruited several top internationals, including Alex Hales, Andre Russell, and Jason Holder. The competing franchises in the league are MI Emirates, Gulf Giants, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Sharjah Warriorz, Dubai Capitals, and Desert Vipers.
