India Captain Suryakumar Yadav on No Handshakes with Pakistan

Suryakumar Yadav, the India captain, stated that his team gave a proper reply by not shaking hands with Pakistan after their victory in the Asia Cup match in Dubai. Pakistan coach Mike Hesson revealed that his players were "ready" to shake hands and were left "disappointed" when their gesture wasn't reciprocated.

Reason Behind No Handshakes

Suryakumar explained that his team's stance was a result of their alignment with the Indian government and the BCCI. He stated that they came to the match to play the game and gave a proper reply to Pakistan's gesture.

Support for Victims of Pahalgam Terror Attack

Suryakumar expressed his team's solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and their families. He also dedicated the win to the brave armed forces who took part in Operation Sindoor.

Coach Mike Hesson's Reaction

Hesson stated that Salman Ali Agha's absence from the post-match presentation was a consequence of India's stance. He expressed disappointment that their opposition didn't reciprocate their gesture to shake hands.

India's Composure on the Field

Suryakumar attributed India's composure on the field to their ability to cut out social media noise. He stated that his team tried to reduce outside distractions by 75-80% and focused on executing their plans on the ground.
