UAE knock out Oman, send India into Super 4s

The UAE made light work of their neighbours Oman, securing India's place in the Super 4s with a convincing 42-run win.

UAE top order sets tone

The UAE's top order batted beautifully, with both openers scoring fifties and setting the platform for a big total. Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem put on a 49-run stand to take the UAE past 50 in just 6 overs.

Oman's early wickets lead to collapse

The UAE's bowlers were spot on, with Junaid Siddique leading the charge. Oman lost four wickets in the PowerPlay, and their hopes of chasing down the 173-run target were doused.

UAE's middle order seals win

After the PowerPlay, the UAE's middle order batted sensibly, taking the score past 100. Muhammad Waseem was unbeaten on 69, while Alishan Sharafu scored 51 to help the UAE reach 172/5.

Oman's resistance fades

In reply, Oman's resistance faded quickly. They lost Aryan Bisht and Vinayak Shukla in the middle overs, and the rest of the team couldn't stem the flow of runs. Junaid Siddique took 4/23 to lead the UAE's bowling attack.
