Mohsin Naqvi shows up for ICC meet; BCCI to raise Asia Cup issue
Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, arrived at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Friday afternoon, resolving speculation about his attendance at the ICC meetings. Naqvi had recently skipped ICC meetings, including the annual conference in Singapore, making his presence uncertain—especially with the Asia Cup issue on the agenda.
Naqvi, who is also a minister in the Pakistan government, is under pressure for retaining the Asia Cup Trophy, which rightfully belongs to India after their victory over Pakistan in the final. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated it will not remain silent over the denial of the trophy to the Indian team.
A discussion on the unresolved Asia Cup matter is believed to be underway, with expectations of a decision or resolution emerging from the meeting later on Friday.
