WI recall Campbell for New Zealand ODIs; King dropped

West Indies have recalled opener John Campbell for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Campbell, who last played an ODI in 2019, comes in for Brandon King, who has been dropped following scores of 3 and 0 in the preceding T20I series.

Fit-again pacer Matthew Forde, who featured in all five T20Is on the tour, has also been included in the ODI squad. Uncapped fast bowler Johann Layne, who made his international debut in the recent Ahmedabad Test against India, and allrounder Shamar Springer have also earned call-ups.

Squad: Shai Hope (captain), Alick Athanaze, Ackeem Auguste, John Campbell, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Justin Greaves, Amir Jangoo, Johann Layne, Khary Pierre, Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd, Shamar Springer.

West Indies will be without several pace-bowling options, with Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Ramon Simmonds and Jediah Blades all ruled out due to injuries.

The ODI series begins in Christchurch on November 16, before moving to Napier and Hamilton for the final two matches.
