Jansen's six-fer puts South Africa in firm command on Day 3

Marco Jansen starred with the ball on Day 3, taking 6 for 48 to put South Africa in a dominant position in the second Test. India collapsed dramatically, losing 6 wickets for 27 runs, and were bowled out for 201. South Africa opted not to enforce the follow-on, ending the day with a lead of 314 runs.

India resumed at 6/0, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul building a steady partnership. Jaiswal reached his half-century, but India's innings began to unravel before Tea. Rahul was the first to fall, edging Keshav Maharaj to slip for 65. Jaiswal followed for 58, caught off Simon Harmer. Sai Sudharsan and Dhruv Jurel fell in quick succession, leaving India at 102/4.

The collapse accelerated after the break. Rishabh Pant edged Jansen to the keeper, Nitish Reddy was caught brilliantly at slip, and Ravindra Jadeja fell to Jansen, leaving India reeling at 122/7.

Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav provided resistance, putting together a half-century stand over 141 deliveries. They took India to 174/7 at Lunch, but the partnership was broken when Washington fell for 48, edging Harmer to slip. Kuldeep was dismissed for 19 off 134 deliveries, and Jansen wrapped up the innings with his sixth wicket.

South Africa's openers, Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram, batted steadily in their second innings, adding 26 runs without loss before bad light ended play.

Brief scores:
South Africa 489 & 26/0 (Ryan Rickelton 13*, Aiden Markram 12*) lead India 201 (Yashasvi Jaiswal 58, Washington Sundar 48; Marco Jansen 6-48, Simon Harmer 3-64) by 314 runs.
