Rohit Sharma revealed as Brand Ambassador for T20 World Cup 2026

Rohit Sharma has been named as the tournament ambassador for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The announcement was made by ICC Chair Jay Shah during the schedule announcement of the World Cup. The tournament is set to run from February 7 to March 8 in India and Sri Lanka.

Rohit appeared in all nine previous editions of the T20 World Cup, starting with the inaugural edition in 2007, which India won. He led India to their second title in the 2024 edition and was their highest run-getter with 257 runs at a strike rate of 156.70. He announced his retirement from the format after India's victory over South Africa in the final.

In all, Rohit played 47 matches across nine T20 World Cups, scoring 1220 runs at an average of 34.86 and a strike rate of 133.04.

"It is great to have the tournament back in India and for me to be associated once again with the tournament, this time in a new capacity as the Brand Ambassador. I wish all the players the very best and hope they have a memorable time and enjoy India's hospitality while taking back a lot of memories," Rohit said following his appointment.
